- Prior to that, Samir was the Director of Investment Banking at Theseus Ventures, where he focused on equity advisory and fundraising for mid-cap listed companies in India. He has been running Phikanet Advisors since 2010, based in the UAE, where he previously advised corporates on raising funds and restructuring their finances. Samir has also served as Associate Director of Private Banking at Standard Chartered Private Bank in Dubai and has worked with other leading banks such as Barclays, Kotak, and ICICI Bank.

What is EB-5
USCIS administers the EB-5 Program, under which investors (along with their spouses and unmarried children under 21) are eligible to apply for a U.S. Green Card if they:
- Invest in a new commercial enterprise in the U.S. that is registered with USCIS.
- Create 10 permanent full-time jobs for qualified U.S. workers.
The program is named EB-5 after the employment-based fifth preference visa that participants receive.
Created by Congress in 1990, the EB-5 Program aims to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. Further reforms were introduced in 2022 through the Reform and Integrity Act.

Step by Step Process
1. Choose a Regional Center and a Specific Project
2. Document Lawful Source of Funds
3. Invest Required Amount of Money
4. File the I-526 Petition
5. Apply for Adjustment of status or Immigrant Visa
6. Receive Temporary Green Card
7. File Form I-829 to remove conditions on residence status.
8. Receive Permanent Green Card after I-829 is approved.
9. Apply for Naturalization 5 years after conditional green card.
